My Uncle Irv

My uncle was a vegan Back before that was a word. As kids, we always found His eating habits quite absurd. His veggies he refused to cut So there upon his plate Were carrots, leaves and peppers – We could really not relate. Especially because that meal Was on Thanksgiving Day. We stuffed our faces, laughing at His colorful display. If he were still alive today He wouldn’t seem so odd, Though I’m sure the turkeys way back then Considered him a god.

A yam and carrot and two peas. Is how a vegan eat's turkey's. With imagination for dessert. No blood was spilled, no one was hurt. :)

I love this poem Ilene. I've always favored rhymes, but I realize now I'm quite fond on stories like this as well. Another FAV for me! My list is starting to look like I'm playing favorites with my favorites but I guess you just have that effect!......Have a great day!........Pat

This reminds of me of all hogs would who were grateful, I suppose, to have masters under kosher law. How unfairly they now fare under Gentiles! No, Ilene, my "overpass" poem is definitely not based on personal experience. Thanks for the stop. / M

ha ha ha I can imagine how strange it would be to see him not tucking into the traditional fare but I am sure the turkeys consider vegans and vegetarians as their best friends lol:-) Have a wonderful time tomorrow:-) hugs Jan xx
