My Tummy Sparkled

My son when he was three Had a favorite place which was on my knees. With his head he would lay on my chest When he wasn't feeling his best. There were times I swear that I was put to the test. It was the first time my child got sick. He had never felt this ugly tick Which hit him quick And not when I would of picked. I was sitting there that day I heard my child say Mommy my tummy sparkled this way. My child turned his head with a little sway And this cute little three year old proceeded to Throw up on my work vest. After I cleaned us both up I put him to bed for Some much needed rest With a prayer to God that by tomorrow he Would have back his zest. Then he would be able to go on another one Of his adventurous quests. This just goes to prove That when my son says mommy my tummy Sparkled this way I know when to move.

You are a FUN writer. I enjoy this type of poem and it was clever to take the child's way with words and play on it!

I have so many children. They are all different which gave me a great way of looking through childhood. Thank you. Andrea. It was nice to hear from you.

It must be frightening to experience a child's discomfort and not be able to solve it for him...A helpless feeling...Thank God his stomach just sparkles...All the best Bette

Hello Arturo. It is scary. This was the first time I had ever heard this saying for an upset stomach. I am very thankful it was nothing serious. Thank you for the visit. I hope you have a great evening.
