My Tropical Fish
Fish are swimming all around
Moving with no sound
Pink, yellow and gold
Some fish even glow
They stare at me in the morning
I stare back wondering at their glory
Swimming through the bubbles
Swiftly through the tunnels
They beg like dogs
Darting through their logs
Looking for their share
Swimming around with no care
Reacting when I am waving
Brilliant colors swaying
Frolicking with their friends
Twirling as their tail extends
Hearing a smack
When one attacks
Survival of the fittest
Won by the biggest
Life can be short
Without my support
Keeping the tank clean
With my weekly routine
Hoping they don’t get sick
With bloat or ich
Watching them close
To prevent any loss
Thankful at night
When I can’t sleep
As they help me relax
Until I can nap
