My Three Wishes
If I could have three wishes,
I know just what they’d be;
It wouldn’t be things of material,
Cause lets face it, that’s just not me;
My first wish would probably be,
For my family to get along;
No more of this he said she said,
Nobody is right and nobody is wrong;
My second wish would have to be,
For all of us to keep hope;
I know we are all having trouble,
But there’s no reason not to cope;
My third wish, for understanding,
No one seems even to try;
And I can’t help but look around me,
And in my mind wonder why;
See I’m not a greedy person,
I don’t want to spend it all on me;
So if there is a genie out there, somewhere,
I hope that you hear my plea!
