My Summer Vacation

What I did on my summer vacation
I did nothing
being only nine years old
My parents made me
do this and that
and dragged me
here and there
But being only
nine years of age
I would have chose
had they gave
me the option
to play in the yard
and with the hose
even though
we're having a drought
and I've been told
for the very last time
to stop
wasting water
We're having a drought
And rode my bike
and went to Mike's
and thrown a turtle
against the garage
and went too far
way out back
and jumped down
from someplace
too high up
and broke a window
and had a cup
of soda
right before dinner
because
I am only nine years old
and I never
ever
not even once
have gotten to do
what I want
during my summer vacation
