My Stupid, Stupid Heart

My heart is educated,
But not too smart.
Sometimes it doesn't --
listen when I talk.

We have these daily meetings,
with graphic demonstrations.
On what a smart heart,
Should never embark.

But my stupid, stupid heart,
Thinks it knows all.
It falls in love,
And thinks it's smart.

One day it will awaken,
and wish it had listened,
to the voice it never hears, saying.
"Not again, My Stupid, Stupid Heart."
