My Stupid Actions
Hours ticking by so slowly
As my painful heart is wholly
Missing the smile on your face
I am in a lonely place
Since my pride got in the way
Of our happiness every day
I did a very stupid thing
Over and over till I'd bring
That sweet smile to a frown
It was heard all over town
You tried never to believe it
Until one day you were hit
With a dose of reality
Opening your eyes to see
How much pain I've put you through
Now your hearts broken and blue
A fit of rage not expected
Came out, language was selected
That your sweet lips never said
I was in over my head
Words overpowering and strong
Listing all my shameful wrongs
Never missing a single beat
Knowing I should just retreat
Out of your life for the better
We are no longer together
Alone and hurting because I
Made your loving green eyes cry
Emotions are about to crack
For a heart I can't get back
