Listen to poem:

My Story

Who will listen to my story?
It's not a tale of great defeat
nor one of fame, nor one of glory --
and I won't pretend that it's complete.
I've time to spend, still, on this earth
and things to say until I go.
I won't begin before my birth
or dwell too long on friend and foe.

I won't recount the passing years
or bore with lists of groundless fears.

As I review what I've just said,
I doubt that any who have read
up to this point my minor rhyme
will want to waste too much more time
while I expose my life's excess,
when all they need is to address
the short list of the poems I write
to post upon this useful site:

visit poetrysoup.com for you to see
much of what you'd wish
                                     to learn of me.

Nice piece. We are alive to tell our story and others must appreciate it no matter what.

Leo, our lives should not be centered on the internet. Granted, it is convenient to have the voices of poets heard on websites which exist primarily for them. It is a matter of balance within our lives.
