My Soul Lies

Eyes full of the darkness of night
Skin shivers to the touch of nights’

A dark horse rises from demon spawn
As I unsaddle my nightmares at dawn

What I’ve seen remains beyond eyeshot
Dark secrets…behind the mind shut

I stand naked in the mirror
Reflections of a fallen hero

The world found me lost in its wake
And now my heavy steps cause it to quake

It’s a new day…only tonight stands in our sorrow
Only light lies! Between eternity and all our tomorrows

My soul lies! Hidden in my black suitcase
A bridged contract with God in its place

Down on my knees…I rise a new man
My prayers null and void…Amen!
