My Single Days
School, College, University days passed by
under guidance of hard restriction
of strict Dad’s administration
strongly focused only on study.
Going to movie or function,
to enjoy with friends
was not family trends,
hardly granted permission.
To take lessons in painting, dance or music
was considered a total waste.
What could I do at my best?
I turned self -trained performer too enthusiastic.
I used to organize cultural functions all year round.
Music, Dance, Recitation, Drama were celebrated on stage.
Participants were the Child Artists of my age.
Fantastic fun and marvelous merriment knew no bound.
I entered College and my teen age started to fly.
I was trapped in family complication
under domestic pressure and restriction.
I got no outlet but only to continue study.
On completion of study I chose my profession.
Fortune bestowed opportune to roam
free in life with economic freedom.
I felt like free bird flapping wings of own emotion.
That single life without any responsibility
I spent my best with full vigor,
No commitment, no adjustment either.
Naturally Single turned Couple to experience new quality.
