My Shadow
My dark, moving shadow,
on the ground down below,
follows me when there is light,
disappears when it is night.
Staying with me throughout the day,
but when it gets dark, it goes away,
from the light, it hides behind me,
forever there it will always be.
Wherever in the sky the sun is faced,
determines where my shadow is placed,
whether the sun is to rise or fall,
makes me shadow short or tall.
My shadow is my shape and outline,
no matter where it is, it is always mine,
from my feet to my head, my shadow is there,
it stays with me no matter where.
