My Reflections On 2018

Just sitting in my man cave contemplating, thinking of the year about to close; reflecting on our world and it’s frustrating seeing our great nation decompose. Our Congress is dead locked in fierce debating, seems there’s little hope for compromise; the President forever tweets; berating those who disagree with his surmise. Across the sea the Russians show aggression; Putin now is rattling his sword. The Middle East is still without concession; showing little hope of peace accord. This year has been a time for feeling sadness, losing fam’ly members and some friends, but in the midst of all this glaring madness, still I’m holding hope for some amends. I’m hoping we can put this din behind us, moving forward to the coming year, and making ’19 so much better, and thus gaining us a future that’s more clear. December 28, 2018

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Rebecca, I think Trump has some good ideas but he is a sorry excuse for a leader, at least by my definition. Just because you have money doesn’t make you a leader, jmho... John

There is so much discord, talking at each other, not to each other. Hanging on to the hope that this new year will be the one to set things right. We can only hope! Well written, John, can see and feel your sadness. To better days ahead! Happy New Year!

Hi John, I agree, the state of our nation and abroad is not in a good state. But we must remain hopeful that the upcoming year and years to come will be much better off. It's always a pleasure to read your poetry my friend. You've penned yourself a winner in my book. I wish you the best of luck in the contest. Wishing you much happiness for the upcoming New Year:-) Alexis

Reading the reflections of your heart, moments in your past year- surely sounds heartbreaking. Like you haven't felt any peace. None at all. I don't look at the negative, making it a part of me. I know negative is in the world, but I don't wish to dwell around such. No more than I have too. Perhaps in the New Year, you will find peace of mind. My best to you. ~ Brandy
