My Precious Idol

My precious Idol
I hold you closer than skin
in the dark
this night
I could have revealed you in time
but would I, I wish you were
revealed, that is
you’ve brought me to knees
slaved me to sin
each breath and each prayer
each morning
leaving
returning,
how slow your soft touch across my chest
the speed of a decade
crossing my breast
and then I am
as u are
master to slave
slave to will
my hideous crime
My hunger, filled
to hide
dissolve
blur and cave
those places of truth
where precious God made
I dreamt you engraven
rounding my neck
feeling the weight
constricting loop
in ocean of sleep
descending the wake
through blue waters falling
to dark waters deep
