My Precious Feline
Once you beget, a four-legged friend into your life spirit
You begin an odyssey about yourself, starting-- within a minute
And greatest of all-- a love 'n caring commit
You will come away, changed forever all
For one soul cannot touch another soul
Without leaving its mark whole
A journey that will bring you more love
And devotion than you have ever known of
It will also test your strength 'n courage enuff
It is the most precious gift embrace
Any living soul can grace
You will not find it, often, among the human race
The journey will teach you many things, I bet
About life, and to be a better person-- yet
Pay attention and learn well from your pet
When the journey is done 'n end
The individual your pet dependably knew who to depend
The one they are proud to call-- ''My Beloved Friend'''
