My Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray to heaven my words to keep.

That I may realize my mistake
And my apology he’ll take

I pray at night to the stars above
That I may find untainted love

I pray to find a second chance
And from someone’s eyes a loving glance

I pray to be a better person
Though a lot of things are left uncertain

I pray at night to find a dream
To dance under the moon lit beams

I pray to know what it’s like to fly
And watch the world as it passes by

I pray to see the world turn around
So bodies never hit the ground

I pray at last to see world peace
So killings everywhere would cease

And finally I pray for you to forgive me
Even though I know, it will never be.

Christine - This form of poetry is "Couplet" and I must say you did a fine job writing it - The rhyme and flow is excellent and the prayer is touching - The truly important thing is to remember to forgive yourself - God Bless
