My Poppa

the joy of you pop 
   
 once big as a redwood tall 
   
 fragile you blessed me 
   
   
   
 your eyes gave me hope 
   
 hundreds of years you grow small 
   
 a dark evil world 
   
   
   
 I stand taller now 
   
 a young sapling rooted deep 
   
 lessons you taught me
