My Pleasure

It is the pleasure of being next to you
The idea that you are somehow still a part of my life
It is the fact that although everything that we've been thru
hasn't done as much damage as I thought it had.

 You are still the part of my world that I imagined
Still the part of my world that is and will always be important to me
Inspite of all that was, I am grateful for what is
For it is my pleasure

You are the future I never thought I'd have
You represent the past that I'd lost so long ago
I have found the peace in the acceptance of what is
and been blessed by the peace that has remained

I gave up on the idea of what was once us
I thought that I'd lost any and all that may have been
But in our friendship I have found that love still remains
And for me that is special simply because of one thing,
It's my pleasure .
