The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

My pillow's still wet

My pillow’s still wet, and I’m still upset,
After everything I’ve been through, is this what I get?
I still remember sitting, waiting for time to run out,
Only that it didn’t, and I have to live with that now,

Live with the fact that I failed to pull through,
It started with one, then that one became two,
Then they piled and they piled and became twenty-five,
But two hours later, you were still alive,

Two hours of my life I’ll never get back,
Everything changed, and white became black,
I wish I never did it, I wish that every day,
The feeling went away, but the memory just stays,

She never said she loved me after she found out,
This was the one time I needed her to love me out loud,
But she never did that, ’cause she doesn’t care,
Where were you when I broke and I needed you there,

I hate everything about myself, I hate myself, I do,
And now I just feel like you’re just hating on me too,
Everything you do, I let it go because I love you,
But you hurt me so bad that I don’t know if I want to,

I’ve been through so much, so much without you here,
All I needed was you to tell me that you’ll always be near,
To tell me it’s okay to not be okay,
That things will get better, even if it’s not today,

Acknowledge that I’m broken and need you more than ever,
Acknowledge that I was so close to almost kissing heaven,
Tell me that you’re sorry, tell me you failed,
Tell me that you love me, you never meant to bail,

Admit that you’re not perfect, we all make mistakes,
Even if you don’t mean it, just do it for my sake,
I’m hurting deeply, and I want to be good,
I think about things that I don’t think I should,

My pillow’s still wet, and I’m still upset,
I’m drowning in tears, tears of regret.
