My Past Life Memory
Summer of 1981. I was exhausted from running after three small children.
My own, which made it joyous, but still, they are active at 2, 5 and 6.
I dove into the pillow on the couch and was almost instantly snoring.
My heart started beating super fast; I recognized fear when I felt it.
I saw a woman running down an alley screaming.
Knew it was Chicago, she was dressed like Julie Andrews in Thoroughly Modern Millie.
This put the year in the 1920-1930’s.
Recognized the woman was me, and I was being chased.
Knew it was a past life. My heart is beating loudly, and I am terrified.
Lights of a car pin me in the alley. A man comes out of the shadows.
Grabs me, throws me down. One shoe flies off.
I know I am going to die.
I feel a knife cut my throat from right to left.
No doubt in my mind this happened.
To me.
In another incarnation.
