My Oubliette

My companion is confusion
There are demons to be fought.
They reside inside my mind,
Messing with my thoughts.

I try not to listen
But they whisper in my ear,
They tell me awful, awful things
While laughing at my fear.

I was given medication,
Saying it would help, but yet
My mind is still imprisoned
In this mental oubliette.
