My Only Two June 06 2004

These days of watching the two of them grow up will soon disappear in the shadows
As one day they shall go down their own path and dust will cover their tracks
Leaving me here to have all these hopes and dreams for my only two children
This thing called time, slowly taking my babies away from me
Pushing them to be little people, soon becoming parents of their own
Knowing I won’t always be able to save them from this world
So I pray my children look back down that path as they go on their own way
I hope they struggle to see through the dust they will one day leave behind
I hope as they look back they are proud
I hope they can one day thank me for who they will become
The things time can magically take from us
In a blink of an eye it’s gone
