Friendship is a fickle flower,
First sign of rain, they wilt and cower,
Love and loyalty, mere phantoms fleeting,
Leaving loss and loneliness deeply seething.
In this cursed garden, overgrown with strife,
Not one stands by me in this accursed life,
Shunned by society, from kinship torn,
Left bleeding, my heart scarred by life’s cruel thorn.
Amidst the seeds of darkness and choking ivy,
A shadowed bloom has lingered beside me,
From childhood's first haunted hour,
Unwavering, despite the bleakness and dour.
Forsaken by all, yet never alone,
My silent, steadfast companion has shown,
Through life's stormy nights, beneath the darkest pall,
My shadow has been there, weathering it all.
His quiet vigil, loyal and true,
Has been my constant, through and through,
For my shadow, has proven my only friend,
And will be by my side until the end.
