My On-Leave Heart

He does not see the tears that fall
Lonely and silently on the pillow
The endless nights tossing and turning
Waking up in search of him

He doesnt hear the prayers to God
Spoken every night for him
Pleading to keep him safe and sound
To give him strength and courage

He does not know about the thoughts
So many each day, dedicated to him
Wishing he could sense them
And the love that grows each day

He does not feel the kisses
The ones being sent each night
Hoping they might reach him
To cure the bruises of his loneliness

This is truly something. I dig this a lot. I was in the shoes of the character in this piece a few times over. There are some who will never grasp how good they had it. Until you're gone...beautiful & kinda heart-breaking piece.
