My October's Blessings
Happy Birthday to Lauryn
My October's blessings
By Michelle Morris

You are October's blessings
You are the brightest and the best
You're the spring blossoms in South Africa
You're the autumnal earthiness and rest
You remind me of the jacaranda blooms
So beautiful and oh, so sublime
You are, of course, my Monday's child
Fair of face and a smile so shy
When I see the gold and fire
Of the Northern Hemisphere's leaves
I see you floating gently
In mind's eye, ballet memories
As a child, you were Princess Chocolate Locks
But now you are a Queen
You are surrounded by Love and Light
And the Universe's guiding beings
When I think of oceans and fun
Of artworks and creative hours
So many strands of joy
Were woven into our souls' powers
Writing books and creating illustrations
Magical unicorns and castles and faeries
Together we went on special adventures
And filled the world with fun and daring
When I think of all our memories
Whether beautiful or heartbreaking
I know we've both been forged
By God's Holy fire and grace
We are women, strong and free
We are resilient, you and me
Soul ties and Heaven's Angels
Create a magical space to be
When I see the moon and sun
I am reminded of hope and faith
Life has a way of taking us
On the best journeys we can make
You are my October's blessings
You are my favourite thing
With you, every day is a gift
Angels in Heaven cheer and sing
