My Noble King

The sounds of hooves that make the very ground shake,
As they draw near the vibrations make the mighty mountains quake.
Just over the ridge one sees them approach,
Forty magnificent animals lead by their king.
A noble steed watching over his herd.
There was no doubt they were the finest I had ever seen.
I watched him from the nearby cliff looking at me,
Shaking his head defiantly.
I looked at him and smiled and said, one day soon my king you’ll belong
to me.
