My Nighttime Aberration

We kiss goodnight and close the light; just moments pass, and he is snoring! Why is this brain of mine still bright with thoughts- oh my, this is so boring! The same old process I go through- once snuggled in, my mind's exploring those things that I forgot to do, like lock the door and pull the drapes; turn off the plugged-in crockpot too. This isn't fair, and I go apes- so from my comfy bed, I run without the slightest hesitation- to find at last, that I'd missed none! Now, back to bed- this aggravation- for sure's my nighttime aberration! June 14, 2020 Contest: Sleepless- Old or New Sponsor: Carolyn Devonshire Revised from a poem posted April 6, 2019

I know these feelings well. Did I set the alarm for my early appointment etc. I wish I had a key to turn my mind off. My husband is snoring almost as soon as his head hits the pillow lol. I could really relate to your words Sandra. Congratulations on your wonderful win! Blessings xxoo

I do the same thing, Sandra, getting up at night repeatedly to see if the doors are locked or if I left the oven on. Very nicely done. Congratulations on your win! Hugs, carolyn
