My New Best Friend

New Best Friend.

I’ve got a new best friend for life
Though I’ve met her only twice
She seems a real good sort, so
I’ll confide my innermost thoughts

She’s brilliant and inspiring is Fay
I’ll phone and catch up everyday
We’ll meet for breakfast or lunch
We’ll chat, smile, gossip and munch.

I’ve leant my new friend some cash
We ate, but she had to dash
She promised next week she’ll repay
I’m lucky to have a friend like Fay

I think my new friend is really in demand
She didn’t meet where we’d planned
I call her, but I get the answer phone
I’ll try later when I get home

My texts are all returned unread
It’s as if my best friend’s dropped dead
And the cheque bounced in the end
I wish I knew what happened to my friend.
