My Name Is Derek

My name is Derek I'm laying in the grass Atop a massive cliff face Waiting for time to pass Come lay next to me Tell me how you've been Set a towel down Or you're gonna stain your shirt The wind here is cold Just like this whole town And I'm still in shorts Losing feeling in my legs My journey both ways is uphill And I would rather be chilled Than sweating to death in real clothes It's a reason that nobody knows My name is Azure Or is it Nathan? Well, does it matter What title we lock ourselves in? It's getting easier When I choose not to think When I drift away Stormy seas are calm When I'm face to face With the one I love I forget myself And I cling on to her Clinging to an image of hope It's easier than being alone Even if it hurts when I think I can just dull it with a drink I think I'll be heading home My name is Derek.
