My Mother Has Been Gone For Quite Awhile Now

My Mother has been gone for quite awhile now

My Mother has been gone for quite awhile now

And it is hard to imagine all the years
that have already gone by

Since the last time that I saw her

Yet every now and then I will pull out a box

That has her hair in it and some pictures of her

And I will open up the box for a little while

Just so that I could smell her hair and her perfume

Because when I have days like today

When I really miss her with all my heart and soul

Some how it helps me

When I hold her hair in my hands

While I am smelling her perfume
as I am looking at all of her pictures

Because it brings back so many
wonderful memories when she was still here

Hi, Dean! I sympathize with your sorrowful feeling of having lost your mother. I did too...over six years ago. I loved her endlessly, because she was one of the kindest mothers in the world. Sometimes I cry...thinking of her beautiful and loving heart! Have faith and try to smile...believe that your mother is in Heaven praying for you and smiling down on you! You have a friend here at Poetry Soup. Warm Regards, Andrew.
