My Mother

As a boy growing up She made every rule She mended my cuts And sent me to school She punished my wrongs But praised my good deeds My very first friend Who took care of my needs She was always there to listen And to support my every dream But would stop me and correct me When she caught me in a scheme She knew the way i felt inside And all the things i thought That at times i leaned towards evil So on God's words me she taught She knew i needed special help To keep me on right track For i could sometimes wander far away Maybe never to come back She was the one who kept me sane And kept the family close Then one day she passed away So now i miss her most.
