My Monster
Full of hate, remorse, and rage,
try as I might to keep him in a cage,
he escapes and roams free,
and tore down the walls around me,
I sit in this husk of a man,
trying to understand,
where it all went,
all that time I spent,
all the tears I wept,
as the fear crept
up on me, you stood there
in my place in nowhere,
you helped me build it back up, built me back to whole,
but without you here, there's a hole,
and I fear once again
that the monster will roam free,
and this time destroy me,
to my core,
break me down till I am no more...
if that happens someday soon,
you should know that I love you
