My Mommy
My Mommy
They say friends are friends forever if the Lords the Lord of them
And that friends cannot say never for heavens without end
But as long as we are here on earth we will always miss her
And if we had her one more day we would all just hug and kiss her
She was almost blind, could barely walk, and her side hurt all day long
But at 86 she still had a good life and to murder her was so wrong
I think that I will call her when I have a minute now and then
I am soon aware that she is not there and the emptiness sets in
There are the things I did not say, that I wish I could have said
I did not even get to say goodbye or kiss her on her head
The Bible says we have those watching, who have gone before us
So she is watching over us and she loves us and adores us
We can’t go back, but it’s not too late to make our Mother proud
She sees us and she hears us with the angels gathered ‘round
