My Mistress

I welcome you every night
And let you stay for hours,
Yet you try to take from me
Moments that are never ours.
I thought it was enough time,
But you find me in the light.
Oh, Sleep, the only time I have for you
Is when we’re together in the night.

If you can't love her in dawn's, revealing light, then steal away into the blackest night. Love on the lark creates a loan shark! The interest required is always greater than that of a normal relationship.
