My Misspent Youth

This is all I have for proof Holes in my pockets And dirt in my shoes; Reminding me of my misspent youth. Hard work that I missed, Young girls that I kissed Idle hours and idle days Staying up, and sleeping late. In a shade where I cut my hay Or put it off for another day, Or maybe let it just rot away. Now I'm old; too old for girls to kiss Too old to stay up late; too old for all of this. Thinking back on my misspent youth, I should have worked much harder then To put on my face an even bigger grin.
