My Minds Shield Against You
To save my heart
I learnt to love another,
I blocked you out and forgot you.
The times were shared,
Your seductive smile,
Your comforting arms,
Your ever gleaming personality,
Well, I tried …
You hurt me;
To think of you was to weep,
To remember the times we had was crippling,
To love you was suicide.
It took time but now my mind has saved me.
I attempt to think of the times we shared,
Your smile,
Your hold,
You.
My subconscious created a shield against you,
Each time I try a thick fog clouds my mind,
I can only remember two things before the shield starts to work,
1. Your name.
2. You hurt me more than anyone has and will.
This is the only way I know you now.
It had been while since I last tried to think of you.
I decide to test it.
The shield is still working
Your name, the fact you hurt me, then nothing
nothing but, a thick, white, fog.
But for how long?
If I see you again shall the shield hold strong?
Or will the walls crumble?
Shall I walk past you, head held high and proud?
Or will I fall and breakdown in your arms?
I guess there is only one way to find out,
Come on shield lets test your strength,
See just how effective you are,
Let’s put you to the test.
We have a date with destiny.
