My Love Lives On

Though months have passed I miss you dear
I’m lonely now without you here
Empty bedsheets cold beside me
Reminding me your soul is free

I press your sweater to my face
I miss so much your loving grace
Wool fibers hold your fading scent
Sweet smiles and the kind words you meant

I held your hand until the end
My turn is close around the bend
God took you from your pain and tears
Absolving you of all your fears

I think of you at great length
I miss your touch, your inner strength
Although it breaks my heart you’re gone
We’ll meet in Heaven later on
