My Long Wait

Is there a time to forget worries
and please the senses
with a temporary fix?
Who tried this new trick?

My long wait
is a test of unbearable patience,
does anyone see this rush?
I've been burned by an insane crush!

Winter's evenings call for light,
we shiver hiding from fright;
no urge to throw snowballs,
they can wait until fear stops.
We all want a reward,
but often we srike the wrong cord;
we frighten and spoil
the song calling it quits,
killing all the wits,
ammusing a throll!

My long wait
is a dreadful threat,
It'll last until sunset;
I'll be a wreck!
