My Little Girl

My little girl
I will always think of her as my little girl
Beautiful big brown eyes, hair all in curl
Smiling so brightly as she runs to and fro
Costume shimmering splendidly so
Dancing and twirling all around
As the music plays its beautiful sound
Next thing I know she has moved on
Cheering the team from dusk till dawn
Then all of a sudden she is all grown
On she has gone to places unknown
Her life no longer just hers you see
Our Navy she serves to defend you and me
Thanks to our Father I can kneel and pray
So she will return to us safely some day
