My Lily Cat I miss my dear loving kitty, You died so young, what a pitty! I loved to stroke your softest fur, To watch you play and hear you purr. You gave such joy, though unaware How your sweet spirit helped me bear The many burdens on my mind, You shared your loyal love so kind. Your picture sits upon my shelf Behind the glass, sunning yourself. I cried for two months when you left, Inconsolable and bereft. My feline friend where are you now? I pray you'll be reborn somehow. 8-7-18 Cat Poems Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Tania Kitchin

It is so nice to hear from you Barbara. It is too late to be on the computer tonight as I got up at 5:30 am, but I will visit your poems tomorrow. I had Virus protection problems all day and my husband just got it fixed tonight. Thank you for your sweet comments on my poems. I appreciate your comments very much. : )

As a cat lover, I love this poem - it speaks to me and for me. Is this true? Cat from the past? There needn't have been one for you to know these feelings, I realize you know them well, regardless. Very well-written and touching. Love ... CayCay

This is very true. I have Lily's ashes in a sweet decorated tin. One day her ashes will be used to grow flowers. My daughter got Tommy Cat a few months after Lily passed. He was a real charmer! Thank you CayCay. I am a cat lover too. : ) xxoo

What a lovely tribute to your cat, Connie! It is a pity when pets either die or else get lost; they leave a void which is hard to fill. I always say 'no more', but for each pet that departs I eventually get one or two! Belated congrats on your fine win. Regards // paul

Thank you Carrie. When I was young, a stray calico cat came to our home. We named her sugar because she was so loving and sweet. I will always remember the joy she gave us. One day she was gone. We think she got hit by a car and we searched but never found her. I am glad I didn't find out she may have been hit. Thank you Carrie.

Congrats for your well-deserved win, Connie. Hope you can find another cat to replace her - as someone said in a poem one time,"a home just ain't a home without an inscrutable cat!" I have a dear old cat named Jeff and he is such a wonderful companion especially at this time. He follows me around like a puppy and is lying on the desk as I type this. Best to you - Bob

That sounds delightful Robert. Our cat used to put his paws on my computer keys while I was trying to type, he would insist on laying in my lap. Thank you very much. : )

So to whom do you complain that your cat did NOT have nine lives? Justice must be served! Congratulations on our win! Aloha! Rico

Congratulations, Connie. You did better than I did with this contest. I have SO many cat poems. I wish I could have chosen one of my older ones that people have not ever seen back from 2011. haha. Your win was very well deserved.

A wonderful poem written for your kitten friend Connie. The words just draw the reader into the feelings shared. Our animal friends can touch us so deeply that when they go a part of us goes with them. Good luck in the contest Connie. Have a wonderful Friday. Hugs....Mike. XX
