My Life Through Each Decade

From birth came adoption and new parents also learning to speak, stammer was hard thinking ahead to rest of life on earth felt anxious feeling to be on guard Then on second-decade school's move primary to secondary but wish to leave so very happy to leave at fifteen then to work in big wide world to believe Now I'm in my 20s with much to learn my mum passed away in '81 such a loss then wed to Jean that year but she died '82 but found Jesus as He died on the cross In my 30s took chickenpox for first time but von recovery met Christine and we clicked and wed the next year simply amazed indeed so glad I was one she picked This 5th decade opened my horizons travel was so great, big and bright Switzerland being our place so often such grandeur taking us to full heights In this 6th decade, redundancy came again this time finally retired early for good having bus pass travel over Scotland plus penning poems being my daily food Now in 7th decade diagnosed with prostate cancer praise God treatment brought it under control so now at peace and content deep in my soul living for Jesus always my eternal God (This is written looking back on my life decade by decade bringing out the major things that crossed my path.)

I love your idea of framing your bio write as one stanza per decade. I'm so glad you are married to the woman you love, and that your cancer is under control. As the Bible says, "Godliness with contentment is great gain". God is good. Hope all is well with you my friend ~ John
