My Life Is Not a Candle

My life is not a candle
For you to watch glow
Watching the flame burn
Thinking you’ll always know
Flame forever burning
Flickering in the wind
Watch the wax melting
Waiting for it to end
Smoke streaming slowly
After you blow it out
Smell of burned emotions
Filling my head with doubt
Strike the match if you dare
For you to light again
But be careful what you wish for
It might burn you in the end

I like this, Jodie, the last line very powerful. Hope you are enjoying the season. LUv, Andrea

I like the ending, 'It might burn your other end'. Please amend or append. Just kidding of course! Wicker flare and flaming metaphor. Good artistic expression of your intimate feelings. Your unreqited homily warmed my cold heart.
