My Life

Take a look at my life
Do you see what I see?
Take a look at my life
Before you decide to judge me.

Judge me for who I am
Not what Im suppose to be
Judge me for what's inside
Not just what you see.

My life hasn't been perfect
Yes I must admit
Not receiving what I want
But getting what I get.

My dad was never around
Even though I didn't care
My mom gave us what she could
Even though he wasn't there.

I made some mistakes in my life
That I'll give anything to change
But I can't keep thinking about the past
'Cause what will I gain.

I have to focus on my future
And stop reliving the past
Why I keep dwelling on what I can't change
I always seem to ask?

I need to think about what lies ahead
And think about my life
Cause when it comes down to it
It's no one else but mine.

This was very deep, you really revealed your true emotions. I can relate to what you said, I am the type that has lived in the past, always wanting to change, never accepting what is and people on the outside, see what they want to see, not what is. I am doing my best not to think about the past, because you can't change it and it does you no good to dwell on it, there are better days ahead.. I loved it!! Tyesha

This has a very clear and powerful message that many should understand well. The flow is easy going in the read and overall it's a very well written piece. Michael
