My Life

Take a look at my life
Do you see what I see?
Take a look at my life
Before you decide to judge me.

Judge me for who I am
Not what Im suppose to be
Judge me for what's inside
Not just what you see.

My life hasn't been perfect
Yes I must admit
Not receiving what I want
But getting what I get.

My dad was never around
Even though I didn't care
My mom gave us what she could
Even though he wasn't there.

I made some mistakes in my life
That I'll give anything to change
But I can't keep thinking about the past
'Cause what will I gain.

I have to focus on my future
And stop reliving the past
Why I keep dwelling on what I can't change
I always seem to ask?

I need to think about what lies ahead
And think about my life
Cause when it comes down to it
It's no one else but mine.

I can relate to what you said, I am the type that has lived in the past, always wanting to change, never accepting what is and people on the outside, see what they want to see, not what is. I am doing my best not to think about the past, because you can't change it and it does you no good to dwell on it, there are better days ahead.. I loved it!! Tyesha
