My Last Breath

My Last Breath..

It seems as if my last breath
May soon be drawn
My one last breath
Before the dawn
Yes, my final breath
And then I’ll be gone

No more a part of your life
Or even what’s left of mine
I walked along the sharp edge of the knife
Whose blood did you think you’d find?

Everything that I ever had
I let slip right through my hands
More than thirty years of life and love
So many things I don’t understand
And it’s all on me, I’m on my knees
Hands held high to the sky...

It seems as if my last breath
May soon be drawn
My one last breath
Before the dawn
Yes, my final breath
And then I’ll be gone

Out of nowhere, the words rush through my head
And I had to find the time
To let them come alive on paper
So in I turn I could pass away...

I’ve let faith be the fire that fuels me
Let belief be my hope and my strength
I’ve let my heart be the guide that rules me
That has allowed me to go to these lengths

See it through right to the end
Watch the captain go down with the ship
I will never abandon that faith or belief
Regardless of how loose my grip...

It seems as if my last breath
Will soon be drawn
My one last breath
Before the dawn
Yes, my final breath
And then I’ll be gone...
