My Inescapable Valentine

An old house I am led to -it is the symbol of 
memories in cobwebs - like those of old lost love - 
a storehouse for so many things buried in my mind. 
I open up its creaking door to see what I might find. 
Lovely notes come wafting down the stairs to me.
The memories buried find me.

Duke Beaufort February 1, 2025 at 8:50 AM Andrea, this strikes me a Valentine for each of us. The old house is in all our brains, and we can let the notes visit us as we wish...or sometimes they seem to have a will of their own. It's all rather good to explore since it brings meaning to the present. This is great poetry! Smiles.
