My Immortal

I saw my last sunset, I watched the whole miraculousness of the dawn begin, As if it were the last I'd ever see. And yet, I can't recall seeing one before it. Now the night sky is the only sky I shall ever see. I am flesh and blood yet not human. I walk the dark streets in the pouring rain looking for a way to end my suffering. I hunger, I feed. The souls of the innocent have not yet begun to acknowledge my existance. Yes, I have a lingering respect for life. Does our kind frighten you? Do we fascinate you? Mystify you? Are you curious to know what entices us? We thirst for love just as you, cut us, we bleed. Hurt us, we feel. We hide in the shadows and wait. Can you see me?
