My Icon

How would I have ever been able,
Able to keep up with and win the challenges of life
All alone by myself without an insight,
Insight into what I was venturing into.
yet, I am able to take every fight in good fate
All because I have been prepared
By a hand that is able and capable.

How would I have ever been able,
Able to have swam across the ocean of life
All alone by myself with no strength,
Strength enough to see me through.
Yet, I have been able to keep up with the tempest
All because I have been prepared
By him who knows most of all it takes to stay aloft.

You have proven yourself an Icon,
An Icon I have come to respect above all.
Your diligence in discharging your responsibility,
Guarding and guiding jealously yours
Described and directed the route of life
My life would have been a total waste
Without the role you played in it.

Your love in generations will be revered
It takes anyone to be a father
But someone special to be a Dad.
My life to God and you I owe.
Thanks for preparing me well
In meeting the challenges of life
With a well prepared mind and in good fate.

Thank you Daddy
Oh, how so loved by me you are.
