My Holy Virgin's Death
MY HOLY VIRGIN'S DEATH
Weep my people weep
For my holy virgin has gone to sleep
A sleep eternal and deep
Her soul her creator must reap
Born of the world
But not of the world
Chastity her watch word
Her purity rose like an incense to God
Of old she swore her solemn oath
To evade immortality's boat
That she on the wings of sanctity may float
And over sin gloat
But the enemy laughed her to scorn
The battle line has just been drawn
By her, will it be won
Or will she mourn?
With lust, they fought
With love, she defended her lot
They exhausted all that they got
Death became their last resort
For this she was willing to die
Offering her life to he who sits on high,
She let out a victorious sigh
"It is finished! To my heavenly spouse, I now fly"
So was the victorious death of my holy virgin
Who conquered sin!
