My Hero That Takes My Heart From Ground Zero

My life is at a standstill
Spent most of it getting my fill
In relationships that just didn't cut the deal
Letting go of the way past memories make me feel
Run over like a loose wheel
How being alone makes your heart feel the ice cold chill
When none of it feels like it was real

Then we reach for the stars
Hoping to find a way to be free from the scars
It's like my heart chained up breaking apart
When I have been so very honest from the start
It's not about having a fancy car
Or hanging out in the right bar
Whether she is near or far

I cast my love into the wind
Looking for my hero our dear lord might send
One that doesn't pretend
Because I have a broken spirit for them to mend
Who understands the meaning
Of what its like to be best friends

Looking for my hero to come to steal the show
Who understands the meaning of what makes life grow
That doesn't mind when things move slow
My hero who has that magical flow
Who wants to know
When true love starts to glow

My hero that takes my heart from ground zero
That will never let go
Of our love that won't ever plateau
Lighting up with all the colors of a rainbow
To find a love that only God can bestow
