My Hero
My hero known to many as only Christine
Now in the fluffy white clouds above
In her short lived time on earth
To many she was more than loved
None more so than her only daughter
Instilling morals to live by each day
Having so much with the world to share
Her only daughter wishing that she would stay
Both of them knew it wasn't an option
For her chosen time was coming near
Living each day as if it were her last
In her remaining life nothing left to fear
Living 12 months longer than expected
Appearing at work every other day
In preparation all were shown their roles
Easing them all in her own special way
Finances put in order with bank accounts reassigned
Paperwork checked and signed off by her legal team
Doing so gave her some piece of mind
Not wanting to leave anything unforeseen
So up until 3 days before her death
At home neither of us wanting to let go
Of all the things and people in the world
You're not only my mother but a true hero!
