My Heavenly Father

My father and friend
guardian above.
I know you’re watching
as I grow up.
Showing me right from wrong,
as I walk along.
Pushing me down when
I mess up.
Never do I worry about your hand.
For you are always standing there.
Sometimes you’re quiet as a mouse.
Never would have known
you were peering down.
Other times you shout
like a fog horn ringing loud.
When I look to the stars in the darkened sky
I know where my answers lie.
Deep within myself
Is where they can be found.
With a little help from my angels
all around.
